For young musicians to experience performing in a premiere youth orchestral environment, under the mentorship of qualified, music loving educators

With expert guidance and direction, our members will be inspired to express their creativity, develop their music skills and achieve instrumental aptitude

In addition to developing their musical talents, our members will enjoy social relationships with other like minded young musicians in the arts

Our members’ participation in music education, performance and community engagement will help them to realise their creative potential and long term music goals

Our youth have the right to access music learning that is creative, challenging and inspiring

As our members develop their music capabilities and performances they will develop their own sense of self worth, confidence and accomplishment.

To provide opportunities for youth to pursue their enjoyment of music learning for life, while developing positive attributes through discipline, reward for effort, commitment and teamwork

The SCYO will encourage our members to pursue formal musical education and tertiary qualifications in Queensland and on the Sunshine Coast
