Our Partners

The SCYO is grateful to the Councillors and staff of the Sunshine Coast Council who regularly support music on the Sunshine Coast by providing access to grants, attendance at performances, providing performance opportunities, and supporting tours.
Education Queensland has been a key partner in the growth of the SCYO over the last decade or so. Mountain Creek State High School was a great venue, from providing support through the times when SCYO was smaller, through to doing its absolute best to squeeze us in as we grew exponentially! Unfortunately we got to a size where our Orchestra couldn’t fit into the Performance Centre (even overflowing to the “pit”), and after 10 years have moved up the road to Chancellor State College. A significant percentage or our conductors are Education Queensland staff, and a large number of our musicians are Education Queensland students. In turn, SCYO always does its absolute best to work around school activities and to minimise pressure on students at critical times. We also believe that with the opportunities provided by SCYO we enhance the progress and development of school musicians.
Bank of Queensland Nambour & Hinterland has generously committed to setting up an annual bursary for assistance towards SCYO membership fees starting in 2022. This bursary supports deserving students in financial hardship who would benefit from being a member in SCYO and would otherwise not be able to participate in SCYO.
