The SCYO extends its gratitude to the Councillors and staff of the Sunshine Coast Council for their consistent support of music on the Sunshine Coast. Their contributions include providing access to grants, attending performances, creating performance opportunities, and supporting tours.

Education Queensland (EQ) has been instrumental in the growth of the Sunshine Coast Youth Orchestra (SCYO) since our inception. Our journey began at Mountain Creek State High School, which served as our first home. The school made every effort to accommodate us as we expanded exponentially, and we are now fortunate to access the facilities and support at Chancellor State College, where our eight ensembles rehearse every week.

Moreover, many of our musicians are Education Queensland students, and a significant percentage of our conductors are Education Queensland staff. This close relationship underscores our commitment to providing experiences and opportunities for students to grow as musicians. These skills are then brought back to their respective school programs, fostering mutually beneficial growth for both SCYO and the schools.
